OK half of my day is done…got the nails done and got my “kit” ready to go for the party…I have to leave here in about 20 minutes to get to the hostess’ house by 2pm….The party starts at 3pm so I need ample time to set up the display of product before all the guests get there. Hoping it’s a good party and gets me back into the swing of things.

When I got my nails done, I got to the shop at 10:15 and she finished me by 10:55. Hello? WTF!?!?! She thinks she forgot a step hahaha we didn’t do as much talking this time cause neither one of us are feeling 100%. Usually we are just jabbering away the whole time I’m there and it takes up to an hour and a half when we do regular fills. Hmmm hahaha Owell it got me home early enough to take a quick power nap…

So I watched the video for Nickelback Savin’ Me earlier today – that’s why I chose this song for the next few post titles cause there is something about that video…woooweeee have you seen it? It’s just weird weird weird at the same time as being great great great hahaha I love the words to this song.

I think when I get home later I’m going to pop a movie in the DVD player in the living room hahaha and watch a movie!!! for those who missed it – I had a very blonde moment (and from my pictures you’ll see I’m not a blonde) and just was not hitting the right button on the remote to get the thing to workhahaha I had it all hooked up right…I just had to hit the right button. go figure. I used to be blonde…that’s the excuse I use for shit like that.

So I went to Chuck E Cheese….I repeated the Serenity Prayer several times as I walked in there and by the time I left – I was a little irritated. I like kids – actually I love kids…but 50+ of them screaming and yelling cause a giant mouse named Chuck E is running around singing to them, is a little much hahaha So when I first get there – they have you wait in line and they have a greeter. This greeter is extremely friendly….greets all the kids…however old the kids are, they get that many tokens…so if they are 6, they get 6 tokens just for walking in the door! how cool is that? haha So it was finally my turn, I’m carrying the two gift bags and he asks me what party I’m there for…I tell him…he says “just you? no kids?” and I said “yeah, just me…do I get 36 tokens?” I thought he was gonna fall over laughing hahaha Well dang it…they were given tokens to the kids for their age…so I’m 36…that means I get 36 tokens, right? Yeah, no…..I didn’t get the tokens…just a funky glow in the dark stamp on my left hand….how fun for me!!! So at one point I am wandering around the arcade area – looking for a video game to play…I played some centipede and some bowling and then I did two race car games.

While I was there – my phone rang twice….first time my phone rang in hours and hours hahaha The first call was my friend BR checking on me to see how I was feeling and the 2nd was my Marine. I went outside to talk to him hahaha we were on the phone for awhile…I went back inside to get some pizza to eat and KP and LP were asking me “where did you go???” hahaha that’s how long I was outside

Now I’m home for the evening – going to rest since I have failed to do that for the last two weeks since I’ve been sick. I’m feeling a lot better than I have been so I’m not too upset….I’m just making sure it goes away completely….I have a busy day tomorrow morning and afternoon so I’ll be out of the house most of the day from about 10am until about 6 or 7…so I’m getting plenty of rest tonight!

OK…so for months…(yeah since we moved in here) I’ve been trying to figure out the DVD player in the front room – the one attached to the big screen…and for some reason I just couldn’t get it to work…so when KP was over last night to try the wireless router – he checked out the DVD player for me and all I was doing was NOT hitting the right button on the remote. OK I feel pretty stupid hahaha I was telling the Marine once that there are certain girls don’t HAVE to know….setting up electronics is one…fixing cars is another…fixing shit around the house is one too….Now mind you, it’s a party bonus if the girl DOES know how to do it…but I don’t believe it’s a requirement…ya know?

I’m watching COPS on CourtTV right now and it’s a Vice Squad Special from here in Vegas….The Lieutenant there on the vice squad was someone I worked with in Traffic. That’s where he’s at now – he’s not in Vice anymore. This is a pretty old episode. I know the female officer they were using as a decoy too at the beginning of the show.

I reconnected the modem to the regular computer…a little easier on my hands, back and neck hahaha oooooh another episode of COPS and it’s Las Vegas. LOVE IT!!! I wonder how old this episode is…oh wow!!! it’s old hahaha and it looks like they are going to be wearing their summer uniforms…and we all KNOW how I feel about those…. (I’m pouting at this point) OH this is REALLY old!!! A few years ago – the South East Area Command handled the strip area along with the whole of southeastern Las Vegas….well they split that area command into two…SouthEast and SouthCentral. South Central now has the strip….this episode has Southeast around the strip. Such a TRIP watching these old episodes!!

so I cheated…I unplugged my home pc from the dsl modem and plugged the modem into my laptop hahahaha it doesn’t make me wireless, but I am posting first post from the laptop!!! woohoo!! I’m facing away from my computer desk with my feet up on a chair…I’m quite comfy … can’t wait til I get wireless then I’ll get to be REALLY comfy when I post here… Dell support is sending someone from Installs Inc on April 1 between noon and 2pm…so I have a week to wait for wireless stuff…owell! in the mean time, I’m cheating by plugging the laptop into the modem hahaha this will give me a week to set things up on here and then when I get the wireless service up and running, I’ll be ready to go!

I went to Target today to get some birthday gifts for the twins that are turning 4…their birthday party is today at 5pm at Chucky Cheese. God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can and wisdom to know the difference. I’ll be repeating that over and over in a restaurant full of kids hahaha at 3pm today, the finance lady is coming over. Mom and I are looking at refinancing the house. cross your fingers we get a good deal! hopefully we can save some money each month…and if we are luckier, we’ll get some extra money to take care of that scraggly backyard that I want to get done.

I just finished watching the last 20 minutes of Connie and Carla. Great movie!!!! It’s funny. Todd and I loved this movie and we went on opening day when it first came out in the theatres. I have a lot of stuff going on this weekend. well, actually just tomorrow so I can’t complain too much. I’ll have all day Sunday to rest and not do anything but house work. I am now watching Third Watch. I love this show. It’s some of the older episodes so they are really really good. I tend to be more into the older episodes – from the first 3 or 4 seasons….the last few seasons with Cruz on there kinda lost my interest.

I read on msnbc.com that the ministers wife that they found in Alabama has confessed to killing her 31 year old husband. wow. It seems strange to me when spouses kill each other when there is no history of violence, no history of domestic abuse, cheating on either side. Just up and shoots the other without any explanation. She took off with her 3 kids and they were found in Alabama, all the way from Tennessee.

I’ve been looking around my room to find a topic of discussion…that tells me it’s time to end this post before I start rambling to the point of boring everyone….including myself! Since I don’t have much to say…

Sooooooooooo my friend KP and I spent a few hours trying to get the wireless router working so I could go online on my laptop … and yea … we couldn’t do it…so now I have to call Dell and have them help me out…was hoping I could avoid that…but owell!!! another lesson in patience! all I want to do is start doing online stuff on the thing and I can’t…so I need to wait…go figure!

I was reading an article on msnbc.com about Natalee Holloway and how the Aruban officials believe she IS dead and that she could have died from alcohol and drugs and not been killed. Hello? WTF?!?!?! they say in this article that the guys involved could have just been involved in a “cover up” of her death – rather than actually killing her. Hmmmm any way I look at it – I see guilt on all of their parts…whether they physically killed her or just “hid” the body after she died. Also, I fail to see how that changes the scope of the investigation. It’s been 10 months already and they still have not found her body and they still have not gotten the story straight from these punks….I pray for her and her family and that they find peace through all of this suffering….it was only a matter of time before the Aruban government tried to push the blame elsewhere in whatever way they could.

Jorge Posada broke his nose in training this past week. How sucky is that? They say it’s not a DL situation tho and he should be fine in a few days! Guess it happened during in field training practice right before the Red Sox game. Poor Jorge!!!

April 3 is the first regular season game for the Yankees. They’ll be in Oakland and then they travel down to Anaheim for the April 7,8 games. I sooooo wish I could have found tickets! It’s about time for a road trip and what better way to make the road trip better than to see the Yankees while I’m there? woohoo!! that would be awesome!

My boss gave me a palm pilot…I’m quite excited really…never had one of those…he gave me the software and the manual on it today…going to read it and get familiar over the weekend. I’ve been fiddling with it here and there since he gave it to me but now that I have the manual and stuff for it I’ll be able to REALLY play with it! woohoo! feeling like Christmas around here hahaha

Earlier this week – it was 45 degrees in the middle of the afternoon and snowing on me as I drove home….today and tomorrow? will be close to 80 degrees and nice and sunny. Only in Las Vegas man!

I heard on the news that a road rage incident caused an accident that killed someone yesterday morning….How sad is that? I’m so grateful I don’t fall victim to that shit. I do get irritated – don’t get me wrong – but I rarely if ever lose my temper while driving. I just turn up my music and keep driving. Sad sad sad day when someone’s temper gets the best of them and they cause a death…over what? where are they going in such a hurry? why is it so important that they get there so fast? I have a lead foot, yes…the Marine laughs at me for it and I can hear in his tone of voice it concerns him…but I try not to cut anyone off or get distracted while driving…

Do you ever look at the weekly pictures on MSNBC.com? Sometimes they are so breathtaking it’s just amazing to me! I love this weeks pictures…check em out here. the first picture is of Marines (go figure – could be why I like this week’s so much! hahaha) and the others are just beautiful as well. There’s this one picture of a bunch of people looking down on the Sakhy shrine in Kabul, Afghanistan. Beautfiul. Be sure to check em out and vote for your favorite one.

9. He shows up for your date at 8 but says he’s gotta be quick – he’s meeting friends for drinks at 10. (oooweeee yeah that’s a booty call!)

10. You’re at a wedding. He’s an extremely drunk groomsman (hahahahahah)

OK so I got the laptop! woohoo!!! yeehaw!!! Dude! I got a Dell!!! hahaha now I have NO idea what to do with it hahaha my friend KP is going to help me get the wireless thing going on it…he’ll be here in a few hours and then I’ll be hooked up to do stuff from the couch and/or bed! woohoo! that will help alot cause I’ll be doing as little as possible this weekend…cause once again….I woke up with a really sore throat….AGAIN…I noticed it last night before going to bed and this morning it was raging….ran a low grade fever off and on all day today too…going to call the doctor tomorrow morning and see if I can get an appointment.

I also got my wristbands I mentioned yesterday and have given away 9 of them already (that includes the two I’m sending to my brother)… I got the stuff from vitacost too…took one of each as soon as I opened them up….got my business cards from Partylite too….got the spring/summer catalog for PL as well…it’s almost like Christmas around here, I tell ya! loving it! hahahah

So I was reading MSNBC.com today and I saw that the Star Princess of Princess Cruises had a major fire on it….what caused it you ask? well an irresponsible smoker of course!!! people like that give people like me a bad name!!! fricking pay attention to when you’re smoking!!! DAMNIT to hell! One person died and about 11 others are injured AND the cruise has been cancelled…the cruise line is picking up the tab on a hotel for some of the guests in Montego Bay (not too shabby of a place to get stranded if ya ask me!) and then they will fly them home. When mom and I went on our cruise to Hawaii, we didn’t smoke near our cabin….we would go down one deck to have our cigarettes and we used the ashtrays. We didn’t smoke when we were sleepy, drunk (neither of us got drunk on the cruise) or anything like that. We paid attention to where our ashes were going. Damn. Imagine how that person who started that fire is gonna feel knowing he/she killed someone? Damn. I hope the cruise line sues the shit outta that person. OK now I’ll get off my soapbox on that subject hahaha

The purpose of a subscription to a magazine is to get it BEFORE it hits the newstand….right? Well…I subscribe to: Self, Sports Illustrated, Time, Cosmo, Travel & Leisure and Glamour….the only one I get BEFORE the issue hits the stands? Sports Illustrated. Cosmo? I just got it and this issue has been on the stands for a few weeks (I’ve refrained from buying it tho)….irks the shit outta me really….

So what do you think that 30% of couples do in bed? Why they bring vibrators to bed of course! How could you not know that? hahahah OK – can ya tell I’m reading Cosmo now? So in order to do this – there are steps you must take before introducting BOB (battery operated boyfriend) into the bed with your man….Step 1? Have the vibrator talk….feel him out, make sure he’d be OK with it…if he is OK with it – be sure to start out small and simple…avoid the ones actually shaped like the penis…at first….Step 2? Let the games begin! hahaha

So I’m sitting at my desk today at work and I’m looking over our current budget expenditures….as I’m doing this, I noticed something, from my left peripheral vision, fall onto my arm….so I look down at my arm and it’s this small, yet U-G-L-Y spider crawling around on my blazer sleeve. So I sit there staring at, as the panic bubbles in my throat and I decide….I have two choices…I can totally freak the F out – flick the thing off my sleeve and spend the rest of the afternoon wondering where the fucker is….OR I can just grab that handy pad of paper (actually yellow phone message pad) and smash the shit outta the creepy crawly….and then panic….so I chose the latter…I picked up the pad of paper – and smashed the crap outta the spider…onto my blazer sleeve…ugh! So then right after I do that (it’s on my upper arm at that point by the way)…I felt a stinging on my arm…so I remove the jacket – I had a sleeveless turtleneck on under it…and lo and behold…the little fucker bit me when I smashed him…or right before I smashed him and it was just a delayed reaction…so THEN I freak out…show everyone I find walking thru the halls…”look what happened to me…poor me! hey check this out” yeah I was an attention whore this afternoon and I’m not ashamed of it….I did save the dead creepy crawly’s body – just until I make sure nothing is gonna happen to my arm…you know like the flesh rot and fall off or anything like that…the welt it left has subsided quite a bit….so I’m thinking I’ll throw the dead thing away tomorrow morning when I get to the office. Have I every mentioned how much I HHHAAATTTEEE spiders? I’m scared to death of them and usually just panic and run the other way….the ONE time I stand up for myself against the little pieces of shit and look what happens…I get bit for it! go figure!

So I missed UPS with my delivery from Dell today….I’m sooooo bummed!!!! The UPS man showed up at my house sometime after mom left for work and I got home from work…I did not get home til 4:40 p.m. and mom leaves at like 2 or 230 I think…so somewhere in that two hour time span – the big brown truck brought my laptop and we were not here to sign for it….sigh…cry….now I have to wait until tomorrow…guess I’ll live…I’ve lived 36 years without a fricking laptop – I guess I’ll survive one more night hahaha

There are wrist bands going around with Sgt. Henry Prendes’ name on them on the department….I bought 20 of them ($1 a piece) so anyone here in Vegas (or not in Vegas) who wants one, let me know via email or the “contact me” button on my page and let me know where to send it. I’ll be keeping one for myself, one for the Marine and giving one to my mom and then the rest will be first come first serve. The money will go to Henry’s family. So there are 17 of them and I’m not charging for em.

Have I mentioned how good my man looks in uniform? Let me tell you – wow. WOW…WOW…he walks into my office in uniform and I can hardly think straight hahaha TB and I used to have a running joke when a REALLY good looking guy would walk into our offices we’d have to bang our heads on the wall to clear it…yeah that’s how I feel…wooooweeee

Speaking of uniforms….I’m a little disappointed….come April 1 – the summer uniforms will come out….sigh….have I mentioned I don’t really dig those things? I like the long sleeve ones better than the short sleeve ones – just don’t dig em like I do the winters….the winter uniforms are so distinguished. I don’t know what to call the summers. hahaha there you have it…yet another opinion from Sodapop when it just really doesn’t matter…but see…here’s the thing…the eye candy just isn’t the same in the summers and it’s not that these guys are less good looking in the summers…but something about those winter uniforms…woooweeee and especially when it’s on the Marine….WOW!

In my office at work, I have a framed collage of photos. Some from Newport Beach at sunset and some from New York City.

One picture is of the Empire State Building at dusk from the roof of MJ’s apartment building in the West Village. The lights are on and it’s just a beautiful picture. Another picture taken that same day is of the Chrysler Building at dusk. I have another picture of the Empire State Building. I took it in two photos and then taped them together to make it look like one. I then have a picture of Radio City Music Hall.

Looking at those pictures, I just keep remembering how at peace I felt when I was wandering around the city and people watching. I remember slowly making my way up to the 86th on the Empire State Building to look out over the observation deck. Once I got there – the view was just phenomenal…I felt like I was flying at some point. It was just an incredible experience and I think everyone needs to experience that at least once in their lifetime.

I remember going into the Century store (I can’t remember the whole name of it) that was right across the street from Ground Zero there in the financial district. WOW! Can you say heaven for someone like me? They have a little bit of everything and it’s at good prices. Designer stuff for cheaper than what you’d find it at the actual department store. Kenneth Cole shoes, clothes and jackets. woooweee It was like 3 different levels…shoes were on their own level…imagine that! they had the boots separate from the sandals and the sandals separate from the pump/closed toe shoes. God I loved that store! Next time I go to NYC, I’m taking an empty suitcase just so I can shop there hahaha

One night while I was there the first time, MJ took me to a little Italian place called Vittorio’s (or something like that – I have a picture of it somewhere) and they had the BEST apple Martinis. I took a picture of that too hahaha Great food – nice atmosphere. Very cool place.

I walked around 5th Avenue for a few hours one day the 2nd time I was there – I got to see St. Patrick’s and I took pictures of the door. Have you seen that door? Holy cow! It’s incredible! Also up in that same area – I found the Kenneth Cole NY store (did you doubt I would find that? hahah) and I went in there…I found a leather jacket in there that I already have (bought at smartbargains.com) and it was close to $400 more than what I had paid online for it. WOW! what a bargain!

I’m posting again cause I’m bored and most likely have some shit on my mind that needs to come out hahaha I’m just sitting here watching country music videos since the NBA took over TNT and Charmed is not on.

Has anyone you know ever been so cranky/crabby that they tend to make you feel like you did something to piss them off? hahaha does that make sense? hahaha So you sit there and go through every encounter in the last week and every conversation in the last TWO weeks trying to figure out if you said/did something to piss them off. Cause they are so crabby they are barely speaking to you. So then after going thru all those conversations and encounters – you can’t think of anything you’ve done – you let it go. Or so you think…until it’s all you think about…wondering did I do something? hmmm should I say something? Should I just ask them straight out if I pissed them off/upset them/hurt their feelers, etc. Then you think…well damn I haven’t done or said anything so whatever it is it’s their shit and they need to deal with it. Yeah that happened to me today hahaha know what I did? I slept for 3 hours and stopped worrying about. If the person IS upset with me, they’ll let me know. Or it will get to a point where I ask them point blank.

I saw on the news earlier that the NHP Trooper spoke for the first time today to the press. He sent his prayers to the families of the people he killed in that accident. I wonder sometimes what people’s thought processes are. Being in law enforcement myself, I tend to want to support the guy, ya know? Being who I am – I try to look at this from all angles…give him the benefit of the doubt, try to figure out his thought process on why he was going so fast without having his lights and sirens on. Is there a reason? I suppose we’ll find out when it goes to trial. I do feel sorry for him though – in one aspect – he killed people. Intentionally or not he’s going to have to live with that the rest of his life. Whether he gets convicted or not…it’s something he will have to live with for years to come.

I got a flier at work today (in email) the Guns vs. Hoses hockey game is coming up. Time to call a few people I know to get tickets and start making plans!!! woohooo!!! I go to this game every year and then I go to the Guns vs. Hoses baseball game every year as well. Each year, police officers and firefighters take to the ice for charity. All proceeds go to charity. This year, the proceeds are going to Sgt. Henry Prendes’ family.

Sheryl Crow and Sting are doing a duet and the song/video is on VH1 Country Music Videos. WTF?!?!?! I had no idea either of them were country artists. Then again, I never thought I’d see a Bon Jovi video on CMT or this channel hahaha and his duet with Jennifer Nettles from Sugarland has been played on the country video stations AND the country radio stations here in town. People are crossing over on the charts and that’s pretty cool!

One of the ladies I work with brought me some olive oil soap from Israel. She took vacation and went there for 2 1/2 weeks. It was really nice of her to bring that back. It smells awesome too! and of course, I forgot it sitting on my desk when I left this afternoon. I’ll be sure to bring it home with me tomorrow. So after I had gotten home, my work cell phone rang and it was one of the Sergeants I work with…He had called the front office for me and they transferred him to my cell – not realizing that I was gone for the day. Odd that happened, considering I let them all know I was leaving when I left and that I’d be gone the rest of the day. Things that make ya go hmmmmm

I just did some serious channel surfing hahaha See what happens when the NBA takes over my channel? damnit, don’t they know who I am and that I have to watch my episodes of Charmed? They are the older seasons so I really love them. The first three seasons were my favorite – Shannen Doherty was still in it and I love her as an actress. Don’t care about her bitchy attitude or temper – I like her as an actress. So now I’m on the Military Channel (channel 105 here in Vegas) watching WW II Battlefront: Battle of Midway. I love this channel. I get lots of military history stuff and it usually surrounds the wars (WWII, Vietnam, Korea, etc) and those were my favorites in History in high school! I ACED most tests in history when we were being tested on WW II and the Civil War. Watching this channel also gets me thinking about the Marine (not that I don’t think of him enough as it is…but you know what I’m saying)

When I was deciding what lyrics to use (by the way – I go to lyrics.com to decide that) I thought I wanted something that would match the way my thoughts popped in and out of my head. Cause we all know how my thought process can change from one topic to the next within 30 seconds or less! I felt this lyric fit beautifully!!! I loved Pearl Jam back in the early 90’s…this song (on their album Ten) came out in 1991. That’s when the whole “Seattle grunge” sound and look were VERY popular! Working at Odyssey back then – I had some coworkers start dressing “grunge” it was kind of funny – watching what outfit they would wear each day hahaha

I came home early today…it said it was 74 degrees in my office…it felt like it was 60 degrees in my office…so I figured I must have been running a fever going through hot and cold flashes…so I came home and slept from about 1230 until 330. broke the fever and am feeling much better! As I was driving home north on I-15 – it was snowing. I found that very interesting! by the time I got onto northbound 95 – it was back to rain and then to my house – it was nothing not even drizzle or anything like that. It’s now sunny…WTF?!?

I got the wireless router that I will need to set up my laptop with wireless web stuff….yeah it just got me salivating cause I haven’t gotten the laptop yet hahahah

So here I am reading this article on MSN.com called “Dating Against Type” that’s the link in case you want to read the whole thing…but I was just wanted to say – it took me YEARS to even consider dating anyone under 6 foot. I am almost 5′8″ myself so when I wear heels – it sometimes takes me up to 5′11/6′ depending on the height of the heel of the shoe – so I had it stuck in my head he HAD to be over 6′. Dating against my usual type has been quite fruitful for me as of late…the Marine is 5′9″. It doesn’t seem odd to me when I have my heels on and am a little taller than he is. It doesn’t seem odd to me at all. I feel quite comfortable with that and it appears he does as well. So I’d have to say dating against type is a good thing!!
