Josie, crap and the Excalibur

I’ve been feeling like crap today, about the same as yesterday. Not better, but not worse. I figure as long as it doesn’t get worse, I’ll be OK. I turn into a big fat baby when I don’t feel good and everything seems sooooo horrible!

I got Josie home last night around 7pm. She was loopy as hell and couldn’t really walk a straight line. She was whimpering almost nonstop and was horribly sleepy. I kept her on my lap or right next to me most of the night. She did wander a little bit.

When we went to bed, she fell off the bed several times due to her not having any balance and she was trying to find a comfy spot on the bed. Poor girl. I was really worried about her for awhile last night cause she lost control of her bladder once and peed all over my foot and leg. Woooweee that was fun!

I was checking out this website about the Excalibur Las Vegas and other hotels. It lets you make reservations and tells you about the hotel you’re choosing. Anyway! The Excalibur always reminds me of my ex and when he was working there in the “midway” area downstairs. He was an airbrush artist. One of the most talented artists I’ve ever seen.

I’m thinking of going to go lay down on the couch and take my first of many naps this weekend!

Until next time….

Is it just a dream?

I’ve been checking out some NY real estate. Yeah, I know I can’t afford it. It just sure is fun to just look at the stuff.

I found Prudential Douglas Elliman has a great website at Queens Village real estate and they have all sorts of real estate to offer. They have listings in Manhattan, Queens, Long Island, Brooklyn and the Hamptons. I absolutely love this website and the pictures they post on the properties they offer.

The Prudential Douglas Elliman website has all kinds of properties listed. If you’re looking for something to purchase, or something to rent, they can help you. Even though I know I can’t afford it right now, I can not get enough of this website. I love looking at the properties they are offering and some of the floor plans are quite intriguing.

I’m just a New York girl at heart I guess and eventually I’ll get there again. I found a West Village apartment just down the street from the NYPD’s 6th Precinct. It’s the same area my great friend MJ used to live when I visited in 2004.  I loved the West Village and the area I stayed in. It was quiet, just down the street from the Police Precinct (made me feel quite safe really) and of course I thought it was beautiful.

When you’re looking for real estate in the New York area, why not go check out that website and maybe they can help you find a place to fit your budget and lifestyle.

Taking no for an answer

I have not moved from this couch all day. I’ve posted like a fiend over here and on Shutterbuggin’. Actually I’ve only posted once over there, but still. I feel like I’ve posted like a fiend.

I just talked to the vets office and their dental machine broke down this morning, so Josie is on the table right now and under anesthia. I think I spelled that wrong and I don’t care. My chest is getting more and more congested. Mom is going to the store after her hair appointment and is going to be bringing me some Zicam so I can try to kick this things ass. I feel horrible! WAHH!! I feel like crying, that’s how bad I feel.

While I’ve been sitting here, I’ve watched last night’s episode of CSI and Grey’s Anatomy. I’m going to watch last night’s episode of Without a Trace in a few minutes. I’ve also tried to cancel with Mickey, who seems to be refusing to take no for an answer. OY. I hate when men act desperate. Makes me want to puke. I’m going to take a nap soon and see how I feel after that. But seriously, I don’t see myself going anywhere tonight except to sleep for 12 hours.

I’ve also been cruising the internet and I found this great digital frame that would come in handy for all the freaking pictures I have. I have hundreds on this laptop and I have thousands on the PC. This digital frame would hold hundreds of pictures. I am seriously going to look into getting one of those after I move.

I got an email from the Human Resources department down in Kentucky. My final score on the test was an 89. I guess that does average out, since my scores on each section that I know of were 98.6, 87, 81, 90 and 81. And on one of them they didn’t give us our scores right away, so I don’t know what I got on that. My name will be on their list until March of 2008. They are going to be contacting the top candidates soon for interviews and background investigation stuff. Cross you fingers. I don’t know that I’m all that upset I didn’t do better on that test. And in a way, I kind of hope they don’t contact me. Is that bad? I’ll take the job if they offer it, but damn it’s just not the one I really want.

Now I’m going to go lay down until they call me about Josie so I can go pick her up. Think I’ll cuddle with Chloe while I’m at it.

Until next time….

Bored. Bored. Bored.

I dropped Josie off this morning at the vet. She’s getting put under to have her teeth cleaned. They said they’d call if they had to extract any teeth. They’ve not called, so I’m thinking they didn’t have to extract any.

I’m getting ready to call them cause it’s been a really long time since I dropped her off and I’m getting worried.

I’m feeling horrid. I felt something coming on Wednesday night and even woke up in the middle of the night with a coughing fit. Scared LP half to death too. I woke up Thursday feeling kinda funky but not really bad. On the flights home, I was coughing quite a bit, but nothing major. I woke up this morning with a sore throat, congested chest and ache-y head. I feel like crap. Wish they’d call so I can go get Josie and then come home and sleep for a few hours.

I’m supposed to meet up with Mickey tonight after he gets off work, however, I’m thinking of canceling. I don’t know if I will ever meet up with him again. I’m just not feeling it anymore. I think that since something always comes up, this just wasn’t supposed to happen. Oddly, I’m not all that upset by it either.

I’m going to go call the vet to see if Josie is ready.   Oh, BTW, have you looked at the new pictures on my Flickr badge?   Lots of pics from Louisville!

Until next time…

Are you an art lover?

I was looking for some art for the walls of my new apartment earlier this morning. After seeing my apartment (or at least the model) I’m ready to start thinking of how to decorate the whole place! No, I’m NOT ordering any at this point. I found Park West Gallery, based in Southfield, MI with another store in Miami, FL.

Park West Gallery is the company who does the art auctions on cruises. I’ve always loved going through all the art they have on display on the cruises I’ve been on. Park West also conducts art auctions throughout the United States and Canada.

Park West Gallery has 23 exhibition galleries accented with antique furniture and fine oriental carpets on limestone floors inside a 63,000 square foot facility. Each gallery focuses on one artist or genre of art. You can read all about how they got started and who works for them here.

I’m wondering how expensive they are, seriously. I may look into the Salvador Dali or Pablo Picasso stuff. They don’t have any Monet listed on their website that I could find. I really like Monet.

Next time you’re on a cruise, be sure to stop by the mid-ship area where they have the art auctions. You’ll see a lot of Park West’s art pieces they have for sale and auction.

My new apartment building

img_0006.JPG

The white building is my new apartment building. There are four apartments per building. Mine is the upstairs and the far left 2 windows are the windows in my two bedrooms.

I so can’t wait to live in there! While I was there, they were preparing the apartment and replacing the carpet, putting in new tile and cabinets in the kitchen.

WHEEEEEE. Here are a few more pictures of the apartment complex I’ll be living in

This one is a little blurry, but the 2nd story balcony there in the white building is my actual balcony! WHEEEEE

Here I sit in the Louisville airport

And I must say, I’m quite bored.   This is what I’ve done today since my last post:

  • Finished packing my stuff
  • Took a shower and got dressed
  • Got in the rental car and drove around this huge ass fucking city
  • Went to Super Walmart by my new apartment and got a little digital camera, because it’s impossible for me to NOT have a camera at the ready at any given time.  Drives me insane
  • Went by my apartment complex and took pictures of the buildings and the area
  • Got a little lost when I went right instead of left in the area of the apartment
  • Found the freeway and then found downtown Louisville.
  • Walked down by the river, took some pictures of the bridges and what not.
  • Got rained on while walking down by the river
  • Drove back by the hotel I stayed out, and went to Border’s.
  • Ran into Laci and her mom at Border’s and then accompanied them over to Staples.
  • Got lost trying to find the Wendy’s Laci told me about (cause I REFUSED to go to the ghetto fabulous Wendy’s)
  • Found an Arby’s instead and ate a late lunch
  • Went across the bridge on I-65 to Jeffersonville, IN.   I’ve never been to Indiana, figured today was as good as any, right?
  • Came back across the bridge and found my way to Mall St. Matthews (which I fucking love BTW)
  • Walked around the mall for a bit and then headed to the airport at 430.
  • Turned my rental car in at 4:50.
  • Came into the airport after checking in and went to a bar to have two Amstel Lights and some crab cakes (both were fantastically delicious).
  • Grabbed a grande vanilla latte and am now sitting at Starbucks with 2 hours until my flight.

I’m bored, but I’m people watching and got my handy dandy laptop here to keep me company.  The bar I got my drinks and crab cakes in was playing the same fricking Daryl Worley song over and over again.  It was driving me batty.

I sat in the bar reading a map book I bought myself, marking the pages where my new apartment and area are, so I can show mom.

I haven’t gone through security yet, cause there are no smoking lounges once I pass through there.  And seriously?  The less I have to take my shoes off and my laptop out of the bag, the happier I will be in the long run.

I’m figuring on a nice nap from here to Denver.   And then once I go from Denver to Vegas, I’ll probably sleep again.

Just as an observation as I write this, there are a lot of hot guys coming and going from the security check point.  Some military, some are pilots and some are just regular civilians going or coming.

This is a good sign people!  Trust me, it’s good!   I found that just around the corner from my new apartment are three things I would definitely need.   There is a neighborhood bar (cocktails!  YAY!), a vet hospital (good for my babies) and a little corner market.   Oh, there is also a gas station at the corner of the main intersection.

One disturbing thing I discovered while here is a strange shaped and colored mole on the top of my hand.  It appeared while I was here.   I’ll be calling my doctor tomorrow to have him remove it and test it for skin cancer.   I wouldn’t worry about it if it was already an existing mole, but since it popped up outta nowhere, I’m a little concerned.   Not enough to panic, mind you, just a little concerned.

OK, must go find a bathroom (not that you needed to know that) and go back outside for a smoke.   I’ll hit Twitter and Crackbook when I’m done out there.

Until next time….

And it's almost over

My little mini vacation here in Louisville is almost over. My plane leaves at 8pm tonight, but check out here at the hotel is at noon. So once I check out, I’ll be wandering the city in the rental car. wheee! I love it here more now that I’ve visited again. It’s a quaint, quiet (in the areas I’ve been in) place. It’s a huge city with a very small town feel.

I went to see my apartment on Tuesday and again yesterday with my friend LP before we took our test. We both passed the test, it is now just a matter of time until we find out our final score and where we placed on the list. We’ll go from there. They lady who administered the test said they’d probably work with both of us since we are both out of town. However, for me it won’t really matter, I’ll be here on Oct 25, so depending on how far up the list I am, my interviews and background stuff may not be until I’m already here.

I brought my little point and shoot Olympus camera on this trip cause I didn’t want to carry around the bulky Canon Rebel. Well damn if the shutter button on the Olympus didn’t break off and I can’t take pictures with it now. ARGH! I didn’t get pictures of anything, which sucks ass. I guess in a way it doesn’t matter, since I’ll be moving here in less than a month.

I’ve had a great trip so far. I’m slowly packing up my stuff right now and then I’ll jump in the shower soon and decide where I want to explore first. I’ll have my laptop in case I need to google map somewhere and I also have a map of Louisville that came in handy the other day when I got lost down by the river.

The bar here in the hotel is quite liberal with the amount of alcohol they use in their drinks. LOL We went down there last night and LP bought me a cosmo for my birthday. Holy cow we were both quite tipsy by the time we came up here to the room. I then tried to listen to the Scandalous Bitches Live! show so I could call in again and firts my cell lost it’s signal and then the laptop is missing a plug in to listen too it. Argh. So I couldn’t call in to chat with Miss Monique and her special guest host, Ricardo. I’ll listen to the show when I get home tonight or tomorrow when I wake up. I miss my girls and my mom and my own bed.

I’m a little upset I’m going to miss Grey’s Anatomy tonight.  It’s the season premiere.  My DVR is set to record it so I’ll be able to watch it tonight when I get home or tomorrow after I sleep a bit.

Until next time…

I made it to Louisville!

I’m in Louisville!   I made it to the airport this morning with an hour and a half to spare before my flight.  And then like typical McCarran Airport there in Las Vegas, I waited 45 fucking minutes to get through security.

And then I had to stop for breakfast, so I stopped at Ruby’s, once I made it to the D gates.  I had a delish egg and cheese sandwich.  It was yummy.   Little did I realize it would be the last food I’d get today.

Our flight left a little late, they didn’t even start boarding until about 11am.  That’s when we were supposed to leave.  WTF?  Are these fucksticks going to make me late for watching Heroes?  Ooooh some heads will roll if that’s the case.

We arrived in Denver, surprisingly close to being on time.  Probably about 10 minutes late.  I found a smoking lounge, had a beer and a cigarette.  Got to the gate with about 10 minutes to spare.  It was supposed to leave at 3:05.  Yeah, same shit as in Vegas.  They didn’t board the plane until exactly 3pm.

Amazingly, we landed in Louisville at exactly 7:25.   As soon as I turned my phone on, my friend KP called to tell me to have a good trip.  He couldn’t remember what time I was leaving.  LOL  we laughed when I told him I was already here.

I went outside for a smoke and then back in for the baggage.   Once I got my baggage, I had to get my rental car.   I made it to Dollar Rent a car and the slowest older people were in line in front of me.  OY!  If these old farts make me late for Heroes, I’m gonna be pissed.

Lucky for me, another clerk came up and started helping me.   I got my Dodge Avenger and was off to the hotel.   I had to find it first.   The google map directions were pretty good and I got here in one piece.

However, it says to turn left on a street I’m not allowed to turn left in.  So I had to circle it and go through the parking lot of an apartment building and I went by our liquor store we went too when we had the Scandalous Weekend here in Louisville.   That told me I was RIGHT AROUND the corner from Miss Laci and her mom.   I could walk to Laci’s if I wanted too right now.

I watched Heroes, did my post over on Fluff and I’m now going to crash.  Even though it’s only 7:45 where I’m from, I adapt quickly to the Eastern time zone.   I’ll be struggling when I go back, that’s for sure.

Off to sleep and rest my weary body.   Oh, one more thing, mom emailed me.  Turns out Chloe has chewed carpet AND gotten out of her new carrier/crate twice so far.  Poor mom.  Sorry bout that!

Until next time…sweet dreams my friends

So far, so good!

My alarm went off at 6am today.  I jumped up outta bed alarmingly fast.  It scared the piss outta me is what it did.

I’ve taken my shower, had some morning coffee, finished packing up my stuff and all I have left to pack is my hair stuff; brushes, gels, hair spray, etc.

The girls are going nutty cause they know I’m leaving.  I have my two suitcases up on the bed along with my laptop case (which is doubling as my carry on today) and Josie is just freaking out.

I have about 30 minutes before I have to leave for the airport.  My flight doesn’t leave until 11am, however I like to get there at least 2 hours ahead of the flight.   I’ll suffer and sit around in the airport.   May even have time to break out the laptop and do stuff online while I’m waiting.

I found the ear buds for my iPod, which is a REALLY good thing, so I’ll have my music too!  I’ve packed my cell phone charger already cause I don’t have a work phone to fall back on this trip, if I need to make a call.

I went to the SPA picnic yesterday afternoon.  The SPA stands for Sheriff’s Protection Association.   I’ve been a member of it since I hired on full time.   I’m not a lifetime member.   They have the picnic every year and then the Christmas party every December.

Several of my friends want me to fly out here in December for the party and I’m considering.  It all depends on whether I’m working or not and what days off I have if I am working.   If I’m still unemployed, there will be no problem with me coming out for the party.

My predictions for this week being spent in Louisville:

  • I will love the apartment complex I’m going to be living in.
  • I will love the fact there is a mall right around the corner from said new apartment complex
  • I will kick ass on the test I take on Wednesday, as will my friend LP
  • The weather will be cool enough for me to wear a sweater
  • I will drink entirely too much Patron either Tuesday or Wednesday night with my friend LP
  • I will enjoy the few days of privacy I am going to have.  No dogs right up my ass, sitting on my lap, tripping me as I walk through the house
  • I will, however, miss my furbabies and will be excited to get home Thursday night to see them and mom.

Those are my predictions for the week.  I’ll let you know at the end of the week how they pan out.

I’m going to have my laptop with me and will be posting sporadically while I’m there.  Also, cross your fingers my flights are all on time, if not early.  I want to be in my hotel room and relaxing by the time Heroes comes on tonight.   I will have a serious melt down if I miss this season premiere.

Until next time…
