Friday August 31

This month FLEW by. Actually, the last 11 months have flown by so fast, it’s hard to believe my birthday is just around the corner. Amazing.

1 stair run
10 push ups
10 sit ups
20 minute AMRAP

Uhhh “stair run” and “fast” in the same workout do not compute in my brain. AT ALL. However, I did eight full rounds and kicked ass at it. It also kicked my ass in return. I got home at 5:30 and I’ve barely been able to move. I’m exhausted. I know it’s not just the workout causing this fatigue, but the fact I didn’t sleep well last night and kept tossing and turning all night. It was a horribly exhausting day for me. I’m glad it’s over.

Thursday August 30

I skipped yesterday because I took a vacation day to recharge my batteries and wrap my brain around some stuff going on at work. It was awesome. I stayed in my pajamas all day long.

10 deadlifts (95#)
10 ring rows
10 burpees

100 sit ups
for time: 5:30.7

Burpees slow me down. They are the stupidest exercise ever (and they have the stupidest name too) but apparently they are good for me. Pfft.

Tuesday August 28

I figured there was nothing he could give me today that would make me feel as bad as I did yesterday. However, since I was/am still sore from yesterday, I was wrong.

He says “fast,” I say “I’ll finish it in my own time.”

Monday August 27

So he told me “do the workout on the main website.” I almost cried. But he did tell me to substitute and few things and vary it to match my skill levels.

This is what was on the website:
For time:
25 Walking lunge steps
20 Pull-ups
50 Box jumps, 20 inch box
20 Double-unders
25 Ring dips
20 Knees to elbows
30 Kettlebell swings, 2 pood
30 Sit-ups
20 Hang squat cleans, 35 pound dumbbells
25 Back extensions
30 Wall ball shots, 20 pound ball
3 Rope climb ascents

What I actually did:
25 walking lunges
20 jumping pull ups
50 box jumps
60 single jump ropes
25 bench dips
20 knee ups
30 db swings (20#)
30 sit ups
20 hang squat clean w/db (20#)
25 supermans
30 walls balls (12# ball)

And since we don’t have room for the ropes, I didn’t do that at all. I survived. That’s the only good thing about this workout. I also did NOT time myself, but I know I did it in less than 30 minutes.

Friday August 24

Sometimes, he goes a little easy on me and/or I half ass it. I think I did a little bit of both yesterday.

Right after that, I went and got my hair done for the first time in 6 months (professionally – I’ve been coloring it myself, but needed it cut too since it was almost to my ass).

Thursday August 23

I skipped two days this week and it makes me feel sketchy! I dislike missing more than one day during the week.

20 weighted step ups (20″ box/15# dumbbells)
30 sit ups
20 ring rows
30 push ups
3 rounds

It didn’t kick my butt as much as I thought it would. It was a good workout.

Monday August 20

I so needed a good ass kicking and he gave me just what I needed! It didn’t really help my stress levels after getting home and finding FedEx has still NOT found my package they delivered to the wrong place and Josie had gotten sick all over the apartment.

5 deadlift (95#)
10 burpees
5 rounds – FAST
Time: 10:17

10 leg ups
10 Russian twists
10 minute AMRAP
8 rounds.

I forgot to get clarification on the “leg ups” so I just did hanging knee ups. He’s had me do several variations of that exercise and I usually get it clear before going down for my workout. I was super stressed so I didn’t ask. Oh well – I did alright and it kicked my ass just like I needed it to.

Wednesday August 15

Some days, I don’t even attempt to Rx these workouts. I was going to today, but there were 5 of us in the gym, trying to do 3 different workouts. We were tripping over each other.

What he gave me:
2 stair runs
20 jumping pull ups
30 lunges w/25# plate overhead
40 sit ups
5 rounds

What I actually did after getting frustrated with the lack of room:
2 stair runs
20 jumping pull ups
15 lunges w/10# plate overhead
40 sit ups
4 rounds

I got so frustrated by the 4th round I was just done. I was not going to try to fight for room down there and take up more of their space. Since I do this in the basement gym of the firehouse, the guys get first dibs on everything and I just luck out if I get a space. On certain days, it’s not a problem to have more than 5 people down there because they are usually doing one workout and I’m doing another on the opposite side of the gym.

Monday August 13

I forgot to post yesterday and I skipped today, so here it is:

10 kb deadlifts
15 push ups
25 squats
5 rounds
21:17 AND it was very similar to the one on Friday. What’s up with that?!?

Friday August 10

20 minute AMRAP

15 kettlebell deadlifts
20 push ups
30 squats

I did 4 rounds plus 5 deadlifts. Those slow me down quite a bit and it didn’t help that both my knees are jacked up. The left one I hurt earlier this week and it’s just getting better and the right one, I smacked it into the area under my steering wheel so I have this big ass bruise just across it and it was hard to do push ups on the right one. *sigh* I’m falling apart, I tell ya!
